The taste test is all about different drinks from their country of origins.

You will be taken through each of them based on the city they are from, each drink has two icons, a bottle and a glass to drink it in (with one exception which will be explained later). Followed by some information about the drink itself, for example when it was first created or by who.

The icons will be avaliable to download at the bottom of the page, you will have the option between jpg, png or svg.

Guiness

Ireland

Guinness is an Irish dry stout that originated in the brewery of Arthur Guinness at St. James's Gate brewery in the capital city of Dublin, Ireland.

Guinness, produced by the Diageo beverages company, is one of the most successful beer brands worldwide.

It is brewed in almost 50 countries and is available in over 120. Annual sales total of Guinness in 2011 was 850 million litres (220,000,000 US gal).

The recipe for the Tonic wine is attributed to the original French monks who settled at the Abbey in the 1880's. Base wines from Spain, known as mistellas, were imported and to these were added the tonic ingredients according to an old recipe

Buckfast Abbey Tonic wine has been produced at the Abbey, ever since the French monks who re-established the Benedictine community in the 19th century, invented the drink as a “pick-me-up”.

Harp

Northern Ireland

Harp Lager is an Irish lager created in 1960 by Guinness in its Great Northern Brewery, Dundalk. It is a major lager brand throughout most of Ulster, but is a minor lager brand in the rest of Ireland.

For many years the slogan "Harp stays sharp" was used in advertisements. It was written by the advertising executive Rod Allen. Recently it has used the slogan "Look on the Harp side".

Efes

In addition to its flagship Pilsener, Efes also produces several other beers, including Efes Dark which is a double-roasted malt lager with 6.5% alcohol and hints of caramel, Efes Light which is a 122.7-calorie and 3.0% ABV take on the original and Efes Xtra which is a hoppier, 7.5% ABV lager.

Or some others lie Efes Ice, a softer, more aromatic, ice-brewed version with 4.2% alcohol and Efes Dark Brown a 6.1% ABV double-roasted malt lager with a distinct coffee and chocolate bouquet. All Efes products sold in Turkey use high fructose corn syrup.

Jose Cuervo

In 1795, Jose María Guadalupe de Cuervo began selling the very first Vino Mezcal de Tequila de Jose Cuervo after receiving the first official charter from the King of Spain to produce tequila commercially.

For over 250 years, Jose Cuervo has been making tequila from the largest agave holdings in the world. The journey begins in the fields on the skirts of the Tequila Volcano. After seven years of maturation, the agave plants are harvested and their cores, or “piñas,” are sent to the La Rojeña distillery.

Smirnoff

Russia

Smirnoff is a brand of vodka owned and produced by the British company Diageo. The Smirnoff brand began with a vodka distillery founded in Moscow by Pyotr Arsenievich Smirnov. It is now distributed in 130 countries

The vodka is made using a traditional charcoal filtration method developed by P.A. Smirnoff. Recipe No. 21 was created by P.A.'s son Vladimir after escaping Russia and the Bolshevik revolution.
